Copyright
Copyright is the legal entitlement of a creator of an original work to own and control distribution of that work. Copyright lasts for the life of the creator plus 70 years, after which time it will enter the public domain. Whilst copyright still applies, however, permission must be sought to reproduce material created or published by ALLY BOOKS. For more information on copyright, please refer to the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1998.
There are circumstances under which copyright permission is not necessary. For example, the following use does not infringe copyright:

  • research and private study
  • instruction or examination
  • criticism, review and news reporting
  • for visually impaired individuals

This is not an exhaustive list, and for full information on permission exceptions, please see the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1998.
